Exterior Guidelines & Approved Products

Homeowners are responsible for the maintenance and repairs of all exterior parts of their unit except the roof, which the association maintains. In order to ensure the uniformity of the Columbus Station Condominium property, all homeowner repairs and improvements must undergo an Architectural Review prior to making exterior changes. Work that does not meet specifications is subject to removal and/or correction. Download this Application for Architectural Review form and submit the completed form to Christine Kehoe by Email: [email protected],  Fax (757) 497-9133, or at UPA, 300 Bendix Rd., Suite 301, Virginia Beach, VA. The Board of Directors reviews applications during monthly Board meetings and the property manager will contact you after the 3rd Tuesday of the month with your application status.

PAINT – Doors, Trim, & Fence

CSCA requires homeowners to purchase exterior paint and fence stain from Spectrum Paints at 1940 Laskin Rd, Virginia Beach, VA (757) 417-7550. CSCA uses Benjamin Moore paint colors that are not sold on the shelf and must be mixed to order. Spectrum Paints has CSCA paint formulas on file, so tell them that you are from Columbus Station Condos and they will mix the approved paint or fence stain for you. **An Architectural Review is NOT needed to paint doors, trim, and fence; However, you must use the approved paint and fence stain from Spectrum Paints. If the following product models are no longer being sold, find a substitute item that looks very similar to our approved product with your Architectural Review application. Attach your substituted product spec sheet and picture with your application and indicate the approved product can’t be found. Many products discontinue routinely and the architectural review committee will adjust the approved products list when informed.
